Hi! my name is Doug Fairbanks and I have been a DJ of one kind or another since high school. Throughout my career as a radio DJ, I have experienced a wide variety of music from traditional TOP 40, to the soft Adult sounds, Easy Listening, Jazz and New Age, to Classic Oldies, Classic Rock, and a stray Polka or two.
You may have heard me on Indianapolis radio in the past as Doug Ryker host of "THE GROOVE THANG" Friday and Saturday nights on the former WBKS FM KISS 106.7. Before that from 1984 to the fall of 1992 I was heard on 95.3 in West Lafayette, Indiana a station that during my time there was known by several names; WWET Wet 95, WLZR the Lazer, WKJM Magic 95, Power 95 and finally Light & Easy WEZV.
I have also had experience in the bar/night club scene spinning Diverse TOP 40 Dance and Hi NRG Dance music.
I have formal training in electronics, and experience in stage lighting in community theater. I also have experience in the radio production studio engineering, writing, voicing and producing commercials and promos.
As a mobile DJ, I have personally DJ'd at wedding receptions, class reunions, company parties, college functions, high school dances, proms, after proms. Plus street fairs, graduation parties, fund raisers, classic car shows, fashion shows, teen center dances and others.
You'll find that I'm an easy-going person that's easy to work with and ready to bring all my experience and resources to the table. I am not a person that is driven to be the center of attention, but rather one who takes pride in making someone else the star that shines!
I am also the type of person that can say "no" to you if I don't feel I can give you the quality event you deserve. I would rather turn you down than take your money and disappoint you and your guests.
